Sport Hooks: A review and giveaway

I love to organize. Just ask my husband.

I make piles and lists. Lots of lists. And as you know, I also collect some goodies in baskets.

A few weeks back, I shared some photos of a few of my favorite medals. Then, many of you were kind enough to share some photos of YOUR special medals.

Last month, I received an beautiful medal rack from Marcey at Sport Hooks. The five-hook rack is stunning, and made of a heavy medal, so I am absolutely loving how durable it is.

That’s right! I found our drill and used it for the first time – all by myself – to install the rack. It literally took about a minute. Easy peasy! The lengthy process for me was deciding where it would go. Once up, I decided to display some of my fave medals — the rest remain in ye ‘ole medal basket.

Part of what I love so much about this rack is the woman behind the design. Marcey is a runner like you and me — though she’s a marathon maniac, having run 86 marathons since 2000. Now that’s an incredible accomplishment! Let’s give Marcey a huge hand!

As she collected bling in the past decade, Marcey said she realized she needed a medal display that was both functional and stylish. Thus, Sport Hooks was born!

Sport Hooks by Heavy Medalz has been in business for seven years and offers 1-hook, 3-hook, 5-hook and 10-hook displays. Her designs transcend all sports — running, swimming, triathlons, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, softball, golf. The list goes on and on!

And the company also makes some unique medal racks, specifically for IRONMAN triathletes and fans of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, as well as runDisney fans! Others have inspirational quotes or distances.

All of her displays are quality and beautiful conversation-starters.

  1. Currently my medals are just hung from nails on the wall in our workout room. Not very creative. For 9 years we’ve been collecting medals between the two of us. I have GOT to find a better way to display them.

  2. Currently all our medals are hanging on nails in the wall in our workout room. We’ve been collecting them for 9 years now. We have GOT to find a better way to display them. This would be PERFECT. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. My medals are hanging on one of those plastic Command Hooks. You know I have to keep it classy here at the Nuthouse.
I think if I win, I will hang it in my kitchen or beside my front door, so that EVERYONE will see them, not just me.
If I don’t win, I may just start accessorizing with them on a daily basis. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I haven’t gotten any medals yet; my first one will come in about three weeks at the Rochester Half Marathon. If I win a rack, my medals will definitely go there.

    • Oh yes! He totally needs a medal rack — and Sport Hooks has them for all sorts of sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball, even martial arts! What’s his sport(s)?

  5. Lol! Right now mine are hanging on one of those expandable, accordion style coat racks right now! It was all I could find to do in a pinch until I buy (or win!) something new!

    • Congratulations! runDisney medals are so beautiful, and I’m loving the new Dumbo medal! Well done! Sport Hooks has some great racks, even Disney themed ones! Best wishes on the giveaway!

  6. I really need one of these! My medals are sadly packed in a box! Not the place for some of the accomplishments I’m most proud of.

  7. Right now all of my medals are hung on the sides of my mirror in bedroom. I’ve been looking for a medal rack but just haven’t quite found that perfect one that is just “me”.

  8. I have a small medal hanger but since we are looking to buy a house, hubby won’t let me install it yet. But I need another one since I’ve gotten so many more medals this year! (and they’re all hanging around one trophy that’s about to tip over!)

(Side note: I liked the facebook pages from my running page, Once Upon a Run, not from my personal page which you have to use to log into rafflecopter)

    • I am wary about putting things on my walls too. Most of my rooms don’t have anything up because I don’t want them to look too busy.

But congrats on all the medals! Good luck on the giveaway!

    • I can hear them calling… Those medals want to be shown off! I can’t really talk, as mine were in a basket until recently too, and many still are. But yes- display them!

  9. I have my medals hanging off a framed picture of one of my races. It’s really looking messy right now, totally need some hooks

  10. Currently displaying my medals hanging shoddily from my dressing table mirror… looking forward to getting a Disney SportHooks for all of my magical Dopey miles!
